What is Jute ?

Jute, a natural golden fibre, symbolic to coarse and rough, strong and sturdy, has now been revolutionized and refined by the modern environmentally conscious fashion industry and is incorporated in various products. Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber that can be spun into coarse, strong threads. It is produced from plants in the genus Corchorus, family Tiliaceae.

Jute

Jute is obtained as an extract from the bark of the jute plant. The stem of the plant is cut during harvesting but root remains within the soil. By the process of bio-degradation, these roots decompose in due course of time and enrich the soil for subsequent crops.

The alternative may not come as cheap as its plastic counterpart, but the price paid will still be cheaper at the cost of saving the environment for our coming generations
. Some more facts about Jute:

Biodegradable jute deteriorates organically, replenishing the earth with productive invaluable nutrients.

It beautifies the earth with vegetation; prevent further erosion and climatic change when used as soil saver.

Jute is almost the perfect eco-system. It is preferred to other backing substitute materials (polypropylene, latex foam, polyurethane foam). The burning behaviour of substitutes favours jute. The relative toxicity levels of substitutes favour jute Jute packages have long durability.

Repeated usage of jute packaging reduces expenses; making recycling cost effective.

Jute naturally protects perishable goods during storage, reducing product losses and prolonging storage life.

Jute is one of the most versatile natural fibres with renewable resource having applications in packaging, textiles and non-textile sectors.

Hydrocarbon Free Jute bags are now being considered as the perfect medium for packing of Food Grade items like Cocoa & Coffee Beans, shelled Nuts, etc.

Used as Geo-Textile in road construction, riverbank protection and land slides control, canal lining, shallow land recovery, railway slope protection, etc.
